The permit will allow our market to collectively acceptance EBT/food stamps for approved food purchases starting in May of the 2009 market season.  We are the first farmers market in the State of South Dakota to apply and be accepted as a collective farmers market entity.

The Vermillion Community Garden will be hosting a Seed Swap on Tuesday, February 17 at 7:15pm in the Vermillion Public Library Community Room.

All are welcome–from master gardeners to absolute beginners. You do not have to be affiliated with the Community Garden to come.

Bring any extra flower, veggie, or herb seed you have (you can divvy up your packets if you have too much of one thing), seed catalogs to share, or just yourself! Refreshments will be provided.

Following the seed swap we’ll have our first Community Garden meeting of the year, and you’ll be able to reserve a plot if you desire.
