The Vermillion Area Farmers Market received word today that we have been awarded matching grant funding through the SD Department of Agriculture Market Grower Grant program.
The VAFM grant project was titled “VAFM Easy-Payment Project,” and will use the grant funds along with in-kind contributions to purchase equipment, pay fees, and advertise their EBT/debit card purchase option program at the 2009 market starting on Thursday, May 21.
Thanks to the Market Board for help with the grant-writing process, and to the USDA and SD Dept. of Agriculture for funding and support. Thanks also to Sandra Vanneman at the SD Dept. of Social Services for her help with logistics.
