Tomorrow’s market promises to be a river of the most delectable sweet corn this side of heaven (do they have sweet corn in heaven?). Pick up a half dozen for dinner, or several dozen for canning or freezing projects (corn relish, anyone?).
Also on the menu–all the bounty of midsummer. We might even start to see a few tomatoes!
Hope to see you at the market!

For produce, look for beans, the first of the sweet peppers, onions, summer squash and zukes, cucumbers, and more!

The produce keeps coming in–with summer crops starting to make their appearance.
Kenny Hanson just called to let me know he’s bringing yellow and purple string beans, summer squash and zucchini, beets, kohlrabi, purple-top turnips, and maybe even a few cukes!
I’ll have broccoli and cabbages (probably the last week on spring cabbage–coleslaw for the 4th!), sugar snap peas, and hopefully a little chard, plus whatever else looks good in the gardens.
Erin Nelson of Irish Twins Handmade Soap will be back with her great assortment of handmade and yummy smelling natural soaps, fantastic homemade laundry detergent, and–new for this week–all-natural toilet bowl cleaner!
You can bet there’ll be plenty more as well–Lip Smakin’ Jellies is sure to come, and John from Dad’s Bakery says he’s baking up a storm.
